Mission context
A major Belgian insurer in Brussels needs a Senior Functional Designer in Life IT. You translate high-level business requirements into robust IT solutions for subscription and contract portfolio applications, and follow designs through implementation, testing and production support. Hands-on work across UI, business logic and database design, including COBOL review and SQL when needed.
Responsibilities
- Analyse high-level functional requirements and design structured IT solutions
- Translate functional designs into technical designs with technical teams
- Prepare functional integration test cases and execute or coordinate testing
- Review COBOL (Micro Focus) source code and write SQL queries as required
- Coordinate technical designers and programmers during implementation
- Report progress to the IS Project Manager
- Monitor production incidents, propose corrective actions and coordinate remediation
