About the role

A major Belgian insurer in Brussels needs a Senior Solution Architect in Life Information Systems. You design end-to-end solutions aligned with business needs and architecture principles, and stay with them from project launch through production. The landscape is hybrid: a large COBOL Micro Focus estate alongside modernisation toward .NET, Angular and domain-driven design, covering customer and intermediary channels, operations applications, and partner integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse needs, compare options and design pragmatic, durable solutions against IT architecture standards
  • Translate complex business requirements into robust solutions and keep business and IT aligned
  • Build consensus among stakeholders from the start of projects
  • Work with business, other IS teams, architecture and infrastructure from design into delivery
  • Document solutions, protect quality and present designs to the architecture board
  • Set a short-, medium- and long-term view for the IT systems in scope
  • Challenge and validate designs with the technical architecture team, including cost, run and maintainability
  • Keep architecture standards visible in the solutions you propose
