About the role

A major Belgian bank in Brussels is strengthening data-driven transformation through advanced analytics and AI. It needs an Expert Data Scientist who leads AI use cases from business scoping through production and monitoring, coaches the analytics team, and helps define enterprise-wide AI governance aligned with group standards and the EU AI Act.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Data Science and AI use cases end to end — scoping, value assessment, development, deployment, adoption and monitoring
  • Challenge business needs, assess feasibility, define success criteria and recommend prioritisation
  • Develop or supervise advanced analytics, ML and generative AI solutions
  • Coordinate business, data and IT stakeholders and manage risks and dependencies
  • Provide hands-on guidance, review work and coach team members
  • Define and implement enterprise-wide AI governance processes for identification, assessment, approval, value tracking and regulatory compliance
