About the role

A major Belgian bank in Brussels is looking for an Expert Project Manager to own cyber security strategy initiatives with a focus on post-quantum readiness. You define the security initiative strategy (including emerging threats such as post-quantum risks), translate it into a prioritised portfolio, oversee cross-dependencies, and drive day-to-day delivery of the roadmap — balancing traditional and quantum-resistant security measures with senior stakeholders across the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-level and detailed short/medium-term roadmaps with priority actions and budgets, including long-term cryptographic resilience and PQC migration timelines
  • Collaborate with group entities to roll out standard solutions balancing business needs with quantum-safe security
  • Direct all phases of cyber security initiatives from inception to completion, including PQC readiness assessments and mitigation planning
  • Prioritise workstreams aligned with security objectives and embed cryptographic agility in project designs
  • Set milestones, ensure adherence to master plans, and mitigate risks — flagging PQC-specific dependencies (vendor support, legacy constraints)
  • Challenge roadmaps with technical awareness of PQC standards (e.g. NIST-selected algorithms)
  • Interact regularly with senior and executive management on cross-functional topics including quantum risk awareness and investment justification
  • Aggregate stakeholder input into deliverables (e.g. memos on PQC transition impacts)
  • Ensure initiatives align with group standards, regulations and evolving cryptographic policies
  • Contribute to policy improvements such as quantum-safe data security frameworks
